Friends of Fine Arts
Supporting the Arts
The Friends of Fine Arts (FOFA) is a parent organization that is a committed advocate for all fine arts programs at Westminster Schools of Augusta across all ages and interests, including band, music, drama, literary arts, and visual arts throughout the Lower, Middle, and Upper schools.
Your membership, volunteer hours, and support allow us to grant wishes for the Fine Arts Department classrooms and teachers.
In previous years we have:
- Assisted the Middle and Upper School Art Department with the cost of AP art framing displayed in Knox Hall, support of The Memory Project, and set up for the AP Art Show.
- Helped the Lower School Music and Art Department with the purchase of a huge bass bar to enrich the sound of our Orff ensemble, as well as added a few accessories to our African drum ensemble. We also helped purchase a set of beautiful bells for the PreK Music Department and purchased a new art display system for the Lower School hallway.
- Purchased new music and additional music stands for the Upper School Band Department, as well as a new digital piano for the Middle and Upper School music room.
- Assisted in renting lights and mics for the Drama Department's fall and spring performances, as well as ran concessions for the plays and set up for drama awards night.
We are hoping to provide extraordinary opportunities this year, and in the many years to come, by providing assistance with field trips and experiences that will foster a creative and positive atmosphere. Some upcoming opportunities include the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) sidewalk chalk festival (where students participate in the Savannah, Georgia competition), the Georgia Thespian Conference, and field trips to see theatre productions to name a few.
We thank you in advance for your prayers, financial support, and willingness to volunteer. Please check the Westminster online calendar for upcoming events.
